Merkur has been making safety razors in Solingen, Germany for over a century. The 38C pairs the same reliable closed comb head found on the shorter Merkur classics with a 95mm extra-long handle built around a solid brass core. The additional length and weight make it noticeably easier to maintain control across larger shaving areas — particularly the head, back of the neck and legs. The barber pole handle knurling provides excellent grip with wet hands.

The closed comb head delivers the same mild-medium aggressive shave as the rest of the Merkur closed comb range — forgiving enough for beginners, consistent enough for daily use by experienced shavers.
