Proraso describes its professional brush as slightly bigger than many others on the market, with natural hair that feels good on the skin and a large grip that makes it easy to handle. Before use, soak the brush in hot water: the bristles swell and hold the soap better, ready to whip into a lather in a bowl or directly on the face.

Boar bristles are naturally firmer than badger or synthetic fibres, which helps them work into hard soaps and gives a more noticeable exfoliating feel on the skin.

How to Use: Soak the bristles in warm to hot water for around ten minutes before use. Work the brush over your soap or cream in circular motions, then lather in a bowl or on the face. After use, rinse under running water, shake and squeeze out the excess, and store with the bristles pointing down.
