Merkur has been making safety razors in Solingen, Germany for over a century, and the 34C is their most recognised model. Enthusiasts have called it the HD, short for Heavy Duty, since the 1980s, a nickname earned by the weight of the handle rather than the aggression of the head. That combination is the whole point: a closed comb that finds its angle intuitively and a handle heavy enough to let the razor do the work without pressure. The wide blade gap lets lather and stubble rinse straight through, which keeps the head clean between passes. The metallic grey coating is the same razor with a darker, more contemporary finish. Identical performance, different look.

How to Use: Load a double-edge blade and angle the razor at approximately 30 degrees to the skin. Use light, short strokes with the grain. Rinse after every stroke. Loosen the knurled handle base to remove and replace blades.
