Matte Paste is one of the No.113 signature products, and the formulation is what sets it apart. Most matte pastes get their finish by drying the hair out. This one works the other way, using kaolin and a wax base for grip while hemp and flaxseed oils keep the hair conditioned underneath.

Hemp seed oil is high in antioxidants, which help protect the hair against damage from free radicals and oxidative stress. Flaxseed oil brings vitamin E, improving breakage and strengthening the hair while nourishing the scalp. Shea butter rounds out the conditioning side. The result is a paste that adds volume and texture without leaving hair brittle or chalky.

It suits short to medium lengths and most hair types, applying smoothly and reworking through the day. Versatile enough that it is hard to go wrong with, which is exactly the point. For extra grit before you apply it, work the No.113 Sea Salt Spray through damp hair first and let it dry.

The fragrance is soft and warm, opening on Chantilly cream and orris before settling into white musk, tonka and sandalwood.

How to Use: Scoop a small amount and warm it between the palms until it spreads easily. Work through dry or towel dried hair from the roots out, then shape as desired. Build up in thin layers rather than applying too much at once.
