Ralf Aust produces every straight razor himself in Solingen, Germany. The 6/8" blade offers a wider shaving surface than the 5/8" — it covers more ground per stroke and carries slightly more weight, which many experienced shavers find gives greater confidence and control across larger shaving areas. The extra hard carbon steel is honed to a factory-ready edge, and the African Blackwood scales are as handsome as any natural wood available.

As with all carbon steel straight razors, rinse thoroughly with warm water after shaving, dry carefully without touching the cutting edge, and store open to allow complete drying. Apply acid-free oil if storing for extended periods — allow at least 48 hours between shaves for the edge to realign.
