The Shapton Professional Series uses the same finely graded ceramic cutting media as the Glass Stone range in a thicker 15mm stone format. The ceramic abrasive wears far more slowly than conventional whetstone materials, delivering consistent performance across a longer lifespan. Each stone includes a plastic storage case that converts into a practical holder during sharpening.

The 5000 grit is used in the second phase of the honing process — after the 1000 to refine the bevel and remove coarser scratch patterns, and before an 8000 finishing stone for a shave-ready edge.

How to Use: Splash the stone with water before use. Use the plastic case as a holder to stabilise the stone. Work the blade at a consistent angle in smooth, even strokes. Follow with 8000 grit to finish.
