Can I use it in the shower?
Yes. The Apex is IPX7 showerproof, so it works wet with gel or foam or dry at the mirror, and you can rinse the whole head under the tap to clean it. Just never use or clean it while it's plugged in, and make sure the charge port is dry before charging.
Will it handle a few days of growth?
It's designed for stubble up to two or three days, around 1mm, and two integrated long hair trimmer bars help with anything longer. It's a shaver rather than a trimmer, so if you're taking down a full beard, use a trimmer for the bulk and the Apex for the finish.
Can I use it to tidy my beard lines?
That's one of its best uses. The foil head keeps cheek lines sharp and the neck smooth between trims without a blade, so no nicks or razor burn. Drop to the lower of the two speeds for a sensitive neckline and stretch the skin taut as you go. It also handles a bald head if you shave your scalp.
How long do the foils last?
Foils and blades are consumables and typically last 6 to 18 months depending on how often you shave and how much area you cover. The complete head (foil, cutters and trimmer bars) is available as the HERO Apex Shaver Replacement Head and clicks on in seconds. For longest life, lift the head, tap the stubble out, click it back on and give it a one to two second spray of Shave Mate, then run the shaver briefly to distribute.
Can I charge it with any USB-C cable?
Use the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable or another USB-A to USB-C cable. USB-C to USB-C cables (the kind that come with newer phones and laptops) will not charge the device. A full charge takes 90 minutes and gives 60 minutes of run time. No initial charge is needed; it's ready straight from the box.
