Foils wear thin and cutters dull. It happens slowly enough that most people don't notice until the shave starts pulling, takes an extra pass, or leaves the neck irritated. A new head fixes all three in the time it takes to click it on.

This is the complete shaving head for the HERO Apex: the floating 6-blade foil, the cutters beneath it and the two long hair trimmer bars, supplied as a single unit so there's nothing to align or assemble. Swap it and the Apex shaves exactly as it did out of the box.

How long a head lasts depends on how often you shave and how much ground you cover, but 6 to 18 months is typical. Rinsing after each use and a one to two second spray of Shave Mate Cleaning Spray keeps the foils clean and the cutters lubricated, which pushes replacement towards the longer end of that range.

To fit, lift the old head off the shaver body by the sides, position the new head over the body and press down until it clicks. Rinse under the tap before first use.
